I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
