Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then located numerous other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state early analysis suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for information.
An important official commented the incident left him without words and had to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
